This was Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's response to the recent spate of flash floods that affected many areas in Singapore, including Bukit Timah, Orchard Road and Thomson Road.

MM Lee was speaking on the sidelines of his visit to the Kolam Ayer ABC Waterfront and the River Vista at Kallang, two new projects under the Public Utility Board's Active, Beautiful and Clean - or ABC - Waters Programme.

He said: "Whatever we do, when we get extraordinary rainfall - like we had recently - no amount of engineering can prevent flooding.

"There is a limited amount of space that you can dig underground, there is a limited amount of space that you can have run-offs for canals. And if you have extraordinary rainfall, well, you've got to prepare for it.

"But of course, everyone expects everything to be perfect - Singaporeans expect everything to be perfect - which we try to do, but some things which are beyond any... it is "Act of God". Unless you want to lose half the roads and have canals." ...more.

Would he need to wait until Corruption Scandals to be fully exposed like Water Flooding everywhere for him to admit this fact. NKF is already 5 years, more had surfaced. Political Masturbation & Davinda Singh can not solve the crisis of reality, just like clearing up culverts can not prevent floods.

Suggestion to introduce Political Activities Act

When you get into the parliament, I suggest you propose a proper bill to regulate regular activities of political parties and NGO what not political groups, and appoint a proper statutory body to be in charge.

The act should specify and make providence for legitimate political groups' parties' activity to interact with people with political interest. Specify what are the limitations and responsibilities. Specify the governing body, specify what are the offenses and penalties also. Call this the political activities act or something.

Specify:

Rallies; procession; demonstration; what requirement necessary, time of day, location, size of crowd, security marshals, traffic & road management, min numbers of days in advance for application, Merit / Demerit Points System, suspension / revocation of permit, responsibility and liabilities etc.

Also define classification:
Walk about; small meetings; meet the people; in-door meetings; large rallies; specified by numbers of participants, giving a range (max -min)

Provide:
Regulatory controls, police power, organizers' marshaling powers', who may order trouble makers to leave, how should police help, what should organizer be held responsible for, etc.

Provide also:
How places of public / road may or may not, be used, obligation and authorities of each dept. Fees, costs, and how state resources may be provided or rendered useful.



As long as there is a reasonable law, I believe that all citizens / activists are happy to comply with.



As it is it became very obvious that corrupted and incompetent famiLEE LEEgime is very coward selfish and hypocritical about this. They misuse / abuse National Environmental, Misc Offenses, Public Entertainment & Meetings, Public Order... acts to any how hum-tum against parties other than their how PAp.

There is no transparency nor accountability nor fairness at all. No reasonable at all. There is bad faith, selectivity, biasness, abuse of power and negligence in countless places. We only managed to expose tip of the iceberg online.

Ass Loong Son still want to tell people that he is doing Political Reform

Do you believe that he is sincere? Who will believe he is?

If our country will get a real political reform, show us a reasonable legislation to properly regulate political activities, that will be a good place to start. This is my suggestion.

Flood is now a norm of famiLEE LEEgime, culvert isn't blocked, TRUTH is

PUB Chief blamed blocked culvert previously and they did their clean up. But this morning the same flood happened again at 20 places including where it had previously flooded. So there can never be a better evidence that clogged culvert ISN'T THE REAL REASON - just lame excuses.

Mr Yap Kheng Guan, PUB director for 3P (public, private and people) Network Department, felt a recent inspection was unlikely to have prevented the flash floods.

He said a short and intense downpour at 9.30am pushed debris down Stamford Canal and trapped it partially in one drain near Delfi Orchard shopping centre.

A second downpour, an hour later, aggravated the situation. Rainwater was then diverted into another drain of the canal, which led to rainwater overflowing near the junction of Scotts and Orchard roads.

So what is blocked instead of the culverts? The TRUTH is blocked!

A reporter of SPH was handcuffed for taking flood picture! Isn't the famiLEE LEEgime trying cover up the reports on floods?

It is LKy's Ass Luck that within just about a week of his Satellite Vision Driven bank merger talks, DBS's ATM & Online Banking failed totally while the other 2 local banks AMTs and Online banking survived. So what is the Old Dog going to say when entire red dot's online & ATM all failed together under one single bank?

Brutally the facts proved the Old Dog Thief Lee Kuan Yew's myopic vision yesterday.

And this is still not the big question today.

There are many banks and giant corporations' failure in US & EU in the recent year of economic crisis, even governments of 46 of 50 US states are broke, and many governments in EU are going broke. Singaporean banks are at no exemptions from risk.

The bigger question is what is the consequence to Singapore after merger when the only local bank left failed. And I highlight the historic fact that Lee Kuan Yew's own brother's TAT LEE BANK failed and he forced Keppel Bank to merge with Tat Lee. DBS was on the failing edge before, and then famiLEE LEEgime then forced POSB to be merged with DBS to safe it.

I want to point out that under Corrupted & Incompetent governance of famiLEE LEEgime, Singaporean banks are at higher risks of failure than many other countries, contrary to popularly believed myths.

Tiny Red Dot will be in deeper shit than Dubai, and Iceland, when that day arrived, thanks very much to Corrupted & Incompetent famiLEE LEEgime.

The flood also shattered the highly proclaimed myth. The island-wide power failure also shattered yet another shamelessly bragged falsehood. The falsely gained confidence on famiLEE LEEgime is now shaken beyond doubt.

When Kota Tingi Malaysia was flooded famiLEE LEEgime said very arrogantly that it will never happen in Singapore. But Ass Loong Son just told Singaporeans 2 weeks ago that it is impossible to expect to be flood-free. They will only admit truths after they had became abundantly clear to the world.

A crane accidentally hit this pedestrian bridge this afternoon Saturday 3.July.2010 around 1430Hr. Causing the structure to become unsafe and had to be demolished immediately. Since that accident there was about 6 whole hours of traffic jam along Bukit Timah and Ferrer Road area.

I was caught in the traffic for 1 and half hour in SMRT bus service number 67, beginning around Newton MRT area, and at about 6PM after suffering 1 and half hours within the crazy jam, passengers were suddenly being told by bus driver that there was road diversion ahead and passengers are to alight at Adams road junction, as we were not able to get to the Bukit Timah areas ahead.

I started to walk from Adams Road towards North West seeing this miles of crazy traffic jam. I checked on Ferrer Road as well, it was jammed like mad too. Due to the diverted traffic from Bukit Timah Road.

What was the most amazing thing was I saw TOTALLY NO TRAFFIC POLICE nor any POLICE MEN deploy along the jammed roads to help divert or control or direct the traffic! Not a single one! There were SMRT & SBS staffs deploy to divert their own company buses only.

Where are the matas? I will tell you only later.

But apparently motorists on the roads were all confused and frustrated. They got impatient and honked at each other. I tried to find out what was going on by listening to and scanning the FM radio stations, there were no information available for entire 30 mins.

I tried to check with the most informed drivers on the road - the taxi uncles, I asked 4 taxi drivers, because their FIRST WORLD COMPUTERIZED & SATELLITE GUIDED system were supposed to keep them informed of road conditions and traffic diversions. They also usually kept listening to radio about traffic news. They taxi drivers could only told me that Bukit Timah; Eng Neo; Ave 6; etc were closed, for unknown reasons starting from this afternoon. So I wouldn't take the taxi to pay for fare while awaiting within that crazy jam, I walked.

When I entered the Bukit Timah NPP, there was the 1st instance where I saw mata from our World Class Home Team. There were 2 of them comfortably sitting in the Aircon NPP behind the desk! I asked about the jam and was told that a bridge was hit by accident and thus road was closed. The mata asked where I was heading, but was unable to help me with useful information how to get there without being jammed.

I reached the trouble spot located just between 4th & 6th Avenues by around 2006Hr, saw that the broken bridge had been demolished, but the traffic police was still blocking the road entirely, for the lifting crane to be cleared.

That was where I first found the traffic police, there were about a dozen of them - but ALL DEPLOYED ONLY AT THAT SPOT (between 4th & 6th Ave plus a few in the other traffic direction)! Good Greif! From Stevens Road; Adams Road; Ferrer Road etc junctions (all jammed!) there was all the way NONE of them! They were all at the spot near 6th Ave! Excellent Deployment Strategy SPF! World Class Number One!

The bridge section that was cut down sits in a truck 100m away from the damaged bridge.

About 10 mins later the Traffic Police began to open Bukit Timah Road (North West direction) I checked the time, it was about 2015Hr. Roughly 6 hours after the bridge was accidentally hit by crane.

Well done Home Team! Hooray Ah Seng! Well done LTA also, they didn't inform taxi compaies and they did not put up those mobile LED digital message boards along the road to inform motorists! Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

To cut it short, the Bukit Timah Road was either closed too late (4hrs after impact) for public safety, or too early for removal, or both!

Dunearn Road (other side of Yaacob's LongKang) is a 3 lane road:


For the 6 hours of Bukit Timah Rd closure, famiLEE LEEgime could had divided a section (between the LongKang crossing bridges of 6th & 4th Ave) of Dunearn Road lanes to 2 directions, & divert the Bukit Timah Rd traffic to make a little detour across the LongKang at 4th Ave & then back Bk Timah Rd via 6th Ave LongKang crossing. In the past they did similar things elsewhere, by just placing police orange cones along the lane dividing lines.

But THEY DID NOT!

I was there, and I did not see this done.

The TP got a dozen of matas deployed but they just make all the traffic of Bk Timah Rd turn right across the LongKang at 4th Ave, and forbid the traffic from proceeding beyond. In my video you can however see at least one car turn out from 4th ave, not stopped by mata, to turn left into Bk Timah & proceeded and pass through where they had the emergency demolition works.
